Mouse is the most used input device of a computer. Although touch pad of laptops are taking its places, some users use mouse with there laptops as well.
Early mouse used with personal computer is based on two rollers and a ball. when the mouse is moved the ball rolls the attached rollers that used to produce signal to roller censor. One roller use to move the mouse pointer on up-down[Y-Axis] direction while other used to get the signals to move the pointer to left-right[X axis] direction.
In modern mouses Light-Emitting diode takes the place of ball and the roller. Now a days it is hard to find old traditional ball-roller mouse.
Although history of mouse or such device is starts from 1952 mouse is getting very popular when graphical user interface come to personal computer. Apple Desktop Bus is pioneer in this field.
To connect with the computer early mouse use to use PS/2 port. Serial port get popular after that. But USB is the most preferred way to connect a mouse to computer.
Since last few years wireless mouse is getting very popular. It uses bluetooth technology. it use a hi-bread of USB and bluetooth modem to pass and get signal from a computer is very handy to use.
